Julie Barnhart, Counselor

My name is Julie Barnhart. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio. I received my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Pastoral Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary in 2008 and my D. Min. in Formational Counseling in May 2021.

I am excited to join the staff at North Coast Family Foundation because for many years I came here as a counselee. My desire to be a counselor developed because I wanted to help others as I had been helped.

Before coming to North Coast, I worked as a counselor on staff at Calvary Reformed Church in Cleveland. My clients have included women, men, teens and children. I have experience in marriage counseling and family counseling, and experience counseling people with personality disorders. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, some Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness and Formational Prayer. It is my belief that many people could benefit from counseling, just as I did. I look forward to helping you grow in Christ and move forward in your life. I am supervised by Michael Misja, PhD.

I enjoy time with my husband and family—especially my two wonderful grandsons, church activities, growing flowers, crocheting, and reading.
