Laura Walts, Counselor

The journey of life can at times bring us many different challenges and even heartache, and I feel honored to have the privilege to assist others on their journey. I believe I have been called to help children, teens, adults, couples and families have a renewed vision and hope despite these challenges. Having been married for 26 years and a mother to four boys, I understand the difficulties of marriage and raising a family. I enjoy working with children and their families in a fun, creative, but meaningful ways to restore family relationships and find solutions to challenges. I feel uniquely called to work with children, teens and adults with trauma/abuse histories. I have been trained and have experience with using Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for young people who have experienced some form of trauma and/or abuse as well as training and experience using Cognitive Processing Therapy with adults. In addition, I can provide spiritual direction for those interested in implementing their Christian faith, as well treatment for a wide range of issues including depression and anxiety, PTSD, anger, self-esteem, adjustment disorders and grief. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Miami University and a Master of Arts in counseling from Liberty University. I am licensed as a Professional Clinical Counselor by the State of Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board. In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors doing activities such as camping, kayaking, biking or hiking, as well as hanging out with my Maltese.
