  1. Carolyn Rodecker says:

Yes, I agree, Christianity does work. My perception of how Christianity was and is to work is where the conflict was and at times is today. Yes this evidences my agenda. I have taken such comfort in Johns’ question that was sent to Jesus. Why? Because it reflects Johns’ human doubt. More times than I would like to mention, I have doubted God and found myself praying “Lord, I do believe, help me with my unbelief.” Again, this reflects my agenda…God not coming through as I would have Him do.
“Freedom to be me..” is clearly paradoxical, yet essential. I must die to me… the person I came to be through the environment I was raised in, and, become willing to allow God to teach me who I was created to be. This was and still is the beginning of understanding my sin. Dying to self is a daily occurrence. Psalm 25:5 has become my prayer. “Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior and my hope is in you al day long.” What I have come to realize is that as long as I have breath, I will be learning.
Thank God the Spirit “groans” for me, intercedes for me, I so need this. I often say that I live in what I call the “already…not yet” principle. Already because of what God has given and done for me and not yet because everyday I must die to me…surrender because this Christian life is not about me. This is the process of sanctification.

  2. Wow, that’s great! God has has been working in me like this and it was nice to have it explained though Romans 8! It’s God who has been starting to see my wretchedness and my ugly sins, yes, in my heart and I want to see more of this crap as I see God does His works in me. He gets the credit not me. And you, know some history hard circumstances and you don’t know amazing circumstances… That God uses… God’s GRACE … I could obsess about this, but I am stopping now.
